Wisconsin State Sen. Julie Lassa says $6 million spread over four years for broadband expansion is not nearly enough. She introduced an amendment that would have increased Wisconsin’s investment in rural broadband to $10 million annually. This compares to what neighboring Minnesota has done, she says.

One small-town grocer going strong

Survey shows decline in Missouri rural business

An economic index created by Creighton University shows that “rural business conditions have deteriorated in Missouri.” The survey tracks the economy in 10 regional states. It has recorded “below-neutral” growth in Missouri for five straight months.
