A new Rural Jump-Start Program in Colorado creates specific areas where approved businesses are exempted from state and local taxes. In order to receive these incentives, the businesses must create at least five new jobs in the county where they’re located. Mesa County joined the program, and three companies have been approved to participate.
Kristi Pollard, who is the Executive Director for the Grand Junction Economic Partnership (GJEP), joins us to discuss the new program and how it’s helping rural economies in her area.
